DEAR CA²RE FRIENDS,
We are happy to announce the 13th CA²RE conference under the topic EXCHANGING. The conference takes place at the Aarhus School of Architecture in association with ARENA, EAAE and ELIA.
We invite senior staff, advanced researchers and early-career researchers to submit in-progress or concluded research projects engaged in Design-Driven research. Design-driven research is an inclusive term that covers a wide range of activities where designing or other forms of artistic or creative development play critical roles in the research, including Artistic Research, Research by Design, Practice-Driven/-Based/-Led Research, and Creative Practice Research. We invite contributions from all relevant fields and disciplines, including architectural design, environmental design, sustainable development, interior design, landscape architecture, urban design/ urbanism, music, performing arts, visual arts, product design, social design, interaction design, and others.
The CA²RE Aarhus event addresses the topic of EXCHANGING. The conference builds on the topics explored at previous CA²RE events and the recommendations articulated through the recently concluded CA²RE+ ERASMUS+ project. From these experiences, the Aarhus event will focus on developing CA²RE further as a shared learning space for DDr. We want to explore and expand how to present, communicate and offer feedback to design-driven research. We will experiment with the event's structure and test new presentation formats to strengthen the dialogue and exchange between the presenters, doctoral fellows, postdoctoral and senior researchers, panel members and keynotes.
The CA²RE Aarhus will maintain a strong focus on the research of doctoral candidates and provide substantial time for the discussion of each presentation. We will, however, also explore how to develop productive frameworks for presenting and discussing DDr by postdoctoral and senior researchers. We aim to create inclusive and informal knowledge-sharing sessions to foster discussion and feedback across types and experience levels.
PROGRAM AND MODE
CA²RE Aarhus is a three-day event around a program of research sessions, discussions, and invited lectures. There is a participation fee of 100€ for in-person participation.
