Framework Participatory Initiatives
Research stage: Early stage of Ph.D. in artistic research
Category: Extended abstract
DDR Statement
I propose to link the Ph.D. to two project areas where I will have a presence over time, these are starting points for further exploration. Nevertheless, the projects that are not described at this point are as important - the projects that emerge along the way. I often work so that one project builds on the previous and thus it is also important to keep it open - so that there is room for the unpredictable. In the projects, I create situations where uncertainty takes place within a given framework. By doing this, I want to investigate an approach where gut feeling and not-knowing form the basis for the production. The core of the artistic research will reflect upon, document, and share this approach.
If one understands architecture as processes that have neither a clear start nor end, it will be crucial to try to understand the process - why and how choices are made along the way. By reflecting in action, together with the others involved, it is possible to respond more directly to the site. I would like to test various strategies for sharing and documenting the work, all of which seek to gain knowledge about the open process. I will document and reflect upon the process by the means of conversations, writing, sound recording, photos, and videos. The research project will mainly be shared through exhibitions, presentations, and seminars.
