I am often advised to state how my research benefits from design-driven methodologies. My decision originates from my need to develop a personal position as a researcher, through which I can offer and discuss my personal point-of-view as practicable methods.

Practice-based approach brings forth a state of situatedness to knowledge-making, where the knowledge made is critical in terms of personally experienced acts and sensations. In this process, I regard the notion of knowledge transforming from a distant data into something closer. I find this state of closeness curious in terms of one’s search for one’s own proximities to a subject matter.

This research project, in particular, has been a journey for me to explore choreographing operations and tools into spatial mediums. There has been a prolific period of search for the so-called choreographies, experimenting repeatedly with various materials, tools, and operations. Thinking through my own body’s acts and sensations during these experiments, I find an open space kept for me to adjust my proximity and distance to the subject matter whereby the abilities and capacities of these acts and sensations grow transforming along with the works themselves.
